After an indifferent 2023-24 sesaon with Troyes where he failed to produce a goal contribution, the attacker enjoyed a more successful campaign during the 2024-25 season with Grenoble who he helped to a 9th place finish in the French second tier. A move to the Turkish top flight will give Olaitan an opportunity to boost his career in an environment that has proven favorable to African internationals.
Olaitan is best known for his contributions to the Benin national team, Les Guepards. He has scored four goals and provided five assists for The Cheetahs, for whom he has become a regular contributor and a key member since breaking into the team during qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Göztepe begin their Super Lig campaign on August 10 on the road against Çaykur Rizespor. Olaitan, born to a Nigerian father and Beninese mother, will join fellow African internationals Novatus Miroshi (Tanzania), Anthony Dennis (Nigeria) and Malcom Bokele (Cameroon) at the club.
