Benjamin Fredrick set to join FC Dender on loan

Newly capped Nigeria international defender Benjamin Fredrick is set to leave Brentford and join recently promoted Belgium side, FC Dender on loan.

The 20 year-old will join the club on a season long loan with the aim of getting regular game time, after two seasons with the U21 of Brentford. Last season Fredrick was voted the U21 player of the year by his teammates.

The Nigerian also made his senior international debut for the Super Eagles, playing the entire duration of the final win over Jamaica at the Unity Cup.

It is reported that Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle pushed for him to go on loan to a team where Fredrick will play first team football, with the aim of keeping him in the team ahead of the resumption of games in the World Cup qualifiers.
