Turkish giants Besiktas have reportedly joined the race to sign Ismael Bennacer, the Algerian international midfielder currently contracted to AC Milan.
Bennacer, 27, returned to Milan this summer following a six-month loan spell at Olympique de Marseille. According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, the Algerian international is ready to leave Milan during the ongoing transfer window, despite his contract running until June 2027.
Schira also reported that Besiktas have already shown interest in Bennacer’s services. However, the Istanbul-based club are not alone in the interest, as at least one Russian club has also inquired about Bennacer just on loan.
Bennacer split last season between Milan in the first half and Marseille in the second, contributing in both Serie A and Ligue 1.
The Algerian star has previously won the Serie A title and the Italian Super Cup with Milan, and was part of Algeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad, where he was named Player of the Tournament.
