Zwane: AmaZulu FC media
South Africa’s AmaZulu FC coach Arthur Zwane does not come across as a prayerful person. At least not from a distance. However, ahead of the resumption of the Betway Premiership next week, the Kaizer Chiefs legend has shared where he needs divine intervention on.
The South Africa Premier Soccer League has been on a break since last month to pave the way for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) underway in Morocco. Bafana Bafana were among the participants in the tournament. Hugo Broos’ side has since been booted out paving the way for the PSL’s resumption.
Now, with the Betway Premiership resuming next week, Zwane explained why he was looking forward to having the season getting in motion again. He then explained what he was praying for.
“We are on the right track. We are just looking forward to the New Year,” he said. “We are just hoping that God will bless us with more three points, more love, more togetherness and more positive energy because that is what we need.
Zwane also welcomed new Zimbabwean signing Mason Mushore, saying he has the potential to bring a new dimension to Usuthu’s playing system.
“We are hoping that Mushore will add some value. It is not the only playing position that we needed to be beefed up.
“At some point, we will find ourselves in a difficult situation, and that is when we need to have a different dimension, change and vary our system and change.”
The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Durban-based team from Highlanders FC in the Zimbabwe Castle Lager PSL. The Zimbabwean should be available for selection when AmaZulu host TS Galaxy at Moses Mabhida Stadium on January 25. Usuthu lie in fifth position in the Betway Premiership table.
