Marumo Gallants continued their push away from the Betway Premiership relegation zone on Saturday with a 2-1 victory at Kaizer Chiefs.
Daniel Msendami's 79th minute winner confirmed three victories in their last four away matches for Gallants, who are now 10th on the league table with further space between them and the relegation zone. The Zimbabwean sent in a free kick from the left wing that bounced inside the far post of Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma's goal.
For Chiefs, who have qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup next season by virtue of reaching the Nedbank Cup, Saturday's result is another poor mark on a disappointing league campaign. AmaKhosi have failed to win in their last six league matches and are languishing in 8th place with plenty of potential to drop further.
Elsewhere, AmaZulu won a Durban derby with a 1-0 result at Golden Arrows. Etiosa Ighodaro's late header secured three points for Usuthu at Mpumalanga Stadium.
And hosts Polokwane City struggled once again in a 1-1 draw at home against relegation candidates SuperSport United. A goal from each side in the first half ensured that the teams shared the points, leaving SuperSport tied with Cape Town City on 24 points in the relegation playoff position but having played two less matches.
