Durban City FC’s first-choice goalkeeper Darren Keet has highlighted how the team’s defence has made it possible for them to remain unbeaten in the Betway Premiership.
The former Cape Town City custodian told his club’s media that they would once again look up to the backline to maintain that unbeaten run when facing Sekhukhune United on Saturday.
“I know it will be a tough game, but we have to try and go there and give our best. Our defence has been great for us, and to be unbeaten after four games as a new team in the league is pretty good and it is deserved,” the former Bafana Bafana keeper said.
Durban City preserved that undefeated record during the mid-week when they shared the spoils at 0-0 with Polokwane City. Earlier, coach Gavin Hunt said he was encouraged by his Durban City’s impressive start to life in the top-flight league as they remain unbeaten.
“Eight out of twelve points isn’t too bad,” Hunt told his club’s website. “If we get eight in the next four games again, I’ll take it. Anytime you get two points a game, you know you are on the right track.”
Hunt hoped that his players would take that positive mentality into the game against Sekhukhune. The newcomers have collected eight points from their opening four Premiership fixtures of two wins and two draws.
