Betway Premiership: Orbit College FC calm growing fears

South Africa’s elite league new kids on the block, Orbit College FC, are starting to feel the Betway Premiership heat.

A 3-1 loss to TS Galaxy FC on Sunday did not look particularly surprising. Perhaps, what was surprising was the margin of the score line.

In a reaction to the latest defeat, Orbit, who are also called Mswenko Boys, have sought to put matters into context by addressing their anxious fans.

The club has released a statement that they are work in progress; hence their strings of defeats should not be blown out of proportion.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is a Championship team. We are new to the Betway Premiership and although we are struggling, the coach and the boys are working. Keep supporting us, things will turn around soon,” the statement reads.

Orbit have registered one win against Siwelele FC with the rest being losses to AmaZulu, Sekhukhune United and Orlando Pirates.

Earlier, Orbit FC’s coach Pogiso Makhoye said he anticipated a rough start to life in the Betway Premiership.

Makhoye was concerned that his players were inactive after getting promotion via play-offs in June 2025.
