Betway Premiership star joins Tanzanian champions Yanga SC

Betway Premiership star Andy Boyeli has officially joined Tanzanian powerhouse Young Africans SC on a season-long loan, with an option to buy, ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The move sees the 24-year-old Congolese striker depart South African side Sekhukhune United for the reigning NBC Premier League champions.

Boyeli’s transfer comes as Sekhukhune have added firepower to their attacking options with the return of Wonderboy Makhubu and the recent acquisitions of Sphiwe Mahlangu from TS Galaxy and Bradley Grobler from SuperSport United. This influx of talent paved the way for Boyeli’s departure.

Yanga confirmed the deal in a brief statement on Thursday night, simply stating, “Welcome to the Andy Boyeli Champions family.”

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune on Friday said: “The club confirms a loan agreement for Congolese marksman, Andy Boyeli. He joins Tanzania Premier League champions, YOUNG AFRICANS SC – a move aimed at his continued growth. Represent us well, Andy.”

Boyeli joined Sekhukhune in July 2024 from Zambian top-flight club Power Dynamos FC. During his single season with Babina Noko, he featured in 27 matches across all competitions, finding the back of the net six times.

His performances earned him the Betway Premiership Player of the Month award for January, a period in which he scored four goals. This impressive run included a goal against AmaZulu FC and a remarkable hat-trick against SuperSport United.
