For the second straight home match, Kaizer Chiefs dropped points in Saturday's 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy to conclude the day's action from South Africa's Betway Premiership.
TS Galaxy midfielder Mlungisi Mbunjana spoiled the day for AmaKhosi supporters when he bundled in from close range following an 80th minute corner kick. Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove inadvertently headed a Siphesihle Maduna service towards his own goal and goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma parried the ball right into the path of Mbunjana for an easy leveler.
An even clash saw both teams exchange opportunities until awful passing in the back from Galaxy saw the ball go straight to Chiefs attacker Gastón Sirino in the 36th minute. The Uruguayan's effort was well saved by Ira Eliezer Tapé but Wandile Duba won the race to the rebound and swept in the opening goal, the 20-year-old's fifth goal of the season.
Chiefs looked less dangerous in the second half, however. Mozambique international defender Dove came on in the 80th minute to fortify the defense but immediately made a costly mistake when his header set up the Mbunjana's equalizer.
8th place AmaKhosi now appear likely to drop out of the top-ten with two teams close behind having games in hand. TS Galaxy move into 3rd place for the time being, on shaky ground with Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United close behind.
