TS Galaxy moved into a top-5 position in South Africa’s Betway Premiership following a 2-0 victory over visitors Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening in Mbombela.
After struggling to make a breakthrough in the first half, the hosts increased their efforts to score two goals in the second half. Mory Keïta’s penalty kick broke the deadlock in the 57th minute before Victor Letsoalo finished from a cross by Zimbabwe international Junior Zindoga ten minutes later for his first league goal this season.
After an uninspiring end to 2025 that saw them close out the year with two scoreless draws, TS Galaxy appear to have used the extended break well. Coach Adnan Beganovic’s side imposed themselves on Gallants, who have not won a league match since mid-October under French tactician Alexandre Lafitte.

Galaxy move level on points with AmaZulu and are now within five points of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who are not enjoying the dominance they are accustomed to. Only seven points separate Sundowns from 8th place Durban City.
The leaders and reigning champions enjoyed a 2-0 victory on Monday to begin 2026 before Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs each earned three points from their fixtures on Tuesday. League action will resume on Friday when Richards Bay hosts Siwelele FC.
