South Africa’s Richards Bay FC have regrouped for training ahead of their meeting with Siwelele FC in the Betway Premiership in South Africa on January 23.
In a statement, the Durban-based team confirmed that all players, including goalkeeper Salim Magoola, had reported for training.
The keeper returned to South Africa soon after the Cranes’ elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) underway in Morocco.
The Natal Rich Boys said most of the players reported for work soon after the festive period to fine-tune for the game against Siwelele at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
“The team ended the first half of the season in the top half of the tables, just off the top-8 teams, in 9th position. With the season recommencement is insight, Richards Bay FC will be looking to end this year’s campaign on a high note with more positive results as their main target,” reads the statement.
The top-flight league was on break in the Rainbow Nation to pave the way for Bafana Bafana’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco.
Meanwhile, Hugo Broos’ side has since exited the competition after losing 2-1 to Cameroon in the Round-of-16.
