Zimbabwe: Scottland FC maintain strong start with another Billiat brace

The discarded Warriors star, who etched his name in the folklore of South Africa PSL before he returned home two seasons ago, was in inspired form. The 35-year-old netted a brace then provided an assist for Scottland FC as they thrashed Hunters FC 3-0.

The 35-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns man found the back of the net in either half to hand Norman Mapeza’s charges a second consecutive victory, their slow start to the 2026 Castle PSL season now a distant memory.

Billiat continues to thrive with Scottland FC

It was the second brace for the former Kaizer Chiefs star in four days after having also scored twice when Scottland FC eased to a 3-0 victory over Manica Diamonds at Gibbo Stadium on Thursday.

Billiat put the noses of the holders in front when he arrived in the box to meet a delivery from Emmanuel Ziocha and glance the effort into the net in the 20^th minute.

Scottland FC went to the break aware that they were not safe to with a 1-0 lead. Little wonder, the holders resumed the second half with a clear intent of cushioning the lead. It had to be the former Warriors again doing the business.

Two minutes into the second half, Billiat reacted the fastest in the box to meet skipper Walter Musona’s corner-kick.

Seven minutes later, scorer-turned provider when the South Africa’s PSL star created the third goal for Mapeza’s charges, laying the ball invitingly to Walter Musona, whose elder brother Knowledge Musona started the game from the substitutes’ bench, for the captain to apply the final finish.

The former Ajax Cape Town City winger finally left the pitch amid applause when he made way for Namibian forward Isaskar Gurirab in the 67^th minute while Zimbabwean Panashe Mutimbanyoka replaced Ziocha.

Scottland FC will now switch focus to the next assignment, this time on the road to face TelOne FC on Thursday, 2^nd April.
