Hardrock, led by highly rated Zambian coach Kelvin Kaindu in his first game in charge, built their victory on the resilience of goalkeeper Tonderai Mateyaunga, defence of Shelton Sibanda while Castle Lager PSL Soccer Star of the Year Washington Navaya led the attack.
The Castle Lager PSL champions paraded their best arsenal including Musona brothers Knowledge and Walter. However, the rookies stood their ground to give Scottland FC new coach Norman Mapeza food for thought.
Elsewhere on Sunday, CAPS United started the season promisingly following a 2-1 victory over AGAMA FC, thanks to goals from Warriors’ winger Ishmael Wadi and Allen Mukombedzi in either half.
