Birmingham City snap up winger Ibrahim Osman on loan

English Championship club Birmingham City FC have completed the signing of Ghana international Ibrahim Osman on a loan deal until the end of the 2025-26 season.

The 21-year-old midfielder is set to have his third loan move from parent club Brighton & Hove Albion, where he has struggled to command a regular shirt since joining from Nordsjaelland in 2023.

Osman becomes Blues’ third signing of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of Kai Wagner and Jhon Solis, and he is expected to add speed and fluidity in manager Chris Davies’ side as they push for an unlikely championship promotion play-off slot.

Ibrahim Osman Joins Birmingham City’s Promotion Push

Osman had his formative years at Ghana’s famed football academy, Right to Dream, before joining Nordsjaelland in 2023, where he scored ten goals and nine assists in 44 games across all competitions in the Danish league.

His high-stakes performance attracted English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion to snap him up in 2024.

He will, however, be shipped on loan to Dutch giants Feyenoord for the 2024-25 season. His journey in the Eredivisie saw him bag six goals in 22 league games with seven appearances in the UEFA Champions League.

Prior to joining Birmingham City, Osman spent the first half of the 2025-26 season on loan in France with Auxerre, playing 14 games without a goal.

The winger has been capped three times by Ghana’s senior team, making his debut in March 2024.
