Black Stars winger Bonsu Baah records another assist in Saudi Pro League

Christopher Bonsu Baah continued his positive momentum on Thursday in the Saudi Pro League after appearing for Ghana’s Black Stars over the FIFA window. The former KRC Genk attacker assisted Al Qadsiah’s only goal in a 1-1 draw at Damac Club.

A clever cross from the left wing by the quick winger found Uruguay international midfielder Nahitan Nández for the finish to put the visitors ahead in the 35th minute.

However, the hosts quickly punched back through Valentín Vada less than two minutes later to leave the two teams level at halftime. In the end, it was an underwhelming result for big spenders Qadsiah, who had to settle for a draw after failing to find a second goal.

Bonsu Baah has built a reputation early in his career as an attacker who enjoys running at opposition defenders to create chaos, a major reason for the rapid accession in his club career since leaving Ghana to play in Norway in 2023. Since joining his current club, he has produced an impressive 2 goals and 8 assists in 26 Saudi Pro League matches.

Al Qadsiah, who have all but secured a top-4 position, have work to do if they wish to qualify for continental competition next season. Needing to secure a place in the top-3, they are five points back of third place Al Ahli with six matches remaining.

Next up is a home test against midtable club Al Shabab next Tuesday. Bonsu Baah came off the bench twice for Ghana in friendlies against Austria and Germany. He now has eight appearances for the Ghana senior team since debuting last year in the Unity Cup and is firmly in the picture to be a part of the squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
