To the great joy of RS Berkane supporters, the Botola Pro title race remains firmly in the hands of the Orange Boys after securing yet another victory and clean sheet on Sunday.
Surprise team Renaissance Zemamra, in second place heading into Sunday's clash, were the latest to try their luck against the league leaders but fell short in a 1-0 victory for the hosts. Yassine Labhiri's third goal of the season in the 65th minute was enough for the watertight RSB defense who earned their 12th shutout of the season.
In the Moroccan capital of Rabat, the city's two biggest clubs clashed on Saturday with Fath Union Sport (FUS) earning all three points in a 2-1 result over AS FAR. Hamza Hannouri opened the scoring for FUS in the first half and Amine El Msane doubled the lead with a free kick before AS FAR playmaker Amine Zouhzouh provided a consolation goal. FUS move into fifth place while AS FAR, in the midst of a rough stretch, fall to third place.
There were plenty more goals scored earlier in the day where Wydad AC crushed Chabab Mohammedia by a 5-1 score. New signings Samuel Obeng and Mickaël Malsa scored their first goals for the club long after the result was secure with Cassius Mailula and league leading scorer Mohamed Rayhi also scoring for WAC. The Casablanca giants move into second place with the result, their fifth consecutive victory in the league.
Wydad's rivals, Raja CA, also continue to find their way after an awful first half of the season. The Green Eagles defeated Chabab Riadi Salmi by a 2-0 score on Saturday. El Houssine Rahimi scored for the fourth consecutive match just before halftime and Adam Ennafati's penalty kick late on confirmed victory for Raja who have won two games in a row.
