The former Morocco national team star went down under a strong challenge from FUS forward Salaheddine Benyachou late in the first half. Otherwise, it was a difficult night all around for Les Wydadis, who were second best throughout the match against the hosts.
WAC’s misery only increased as the match went on. Goalkeeper El Mehdi Benabid made a brilliant save to keep out a header on the hour mark but two minutes later, he was powerless to stop an inswinging cross from Lamine Diakité on the right wing that snuck inside the far post.

The visitors failed to put a shot on target for the remainder of the match, and FUS were able to hold on without too much trouble. The result moves the club from the capital up to 8th place on the league table.
WAC, on the other hand, fail to seize an opportunity to move into first place and remain a point back of leaders and rivals Raja. They still have two games in hand on their rivals but are level with Rabat’s other big club, AS FAR, who produced an outstanding effort to come back and win 3-2 at Olympique Dcheira on Thursday.
