In a statement, Mochudi Centre Chiefs confirmed the disciplinary action on Mangolo, fellow defenders Shanganani Nganda, Brian Tafhi, midfielders Monty Enosa and Laone Petros.
“Mochudi Centre Chiefs wishes to inform its supporters and stakeholders that the following players have been suspended with immediate effect until further notice: Benson Mangolo, Shanganani Nganda, Monty Enosa, Laone Petros and Brian Tafhi,” reads the statement.
“This is a decision taken following a breach of the club’s internal regulations. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of discipline and professionalism at all times.”
Mangolo is a highly rated wingback who signed for the Botswana outfit in January on loan from Richards Bay. He is expected to rejoin the Betway Premiership club in June.
On the other hand, Nganda and Tafhi are reliable defenders for the Mochudi-based giants. Enosa is a highly rated 22-year-old who, like fellow midfielder Petros, also plays for Botswana national team.
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Stanton Fredericks owns Centre Chiefs FC through his consortium, Stanton Fredericks Sports Group. The consortium signed a 15-year management contract.
The four-time champions have top players such as former SuperSport United forward Evans Rusike.
Centre Chiefs’ next assignment will be against Black Lions FC on Saturday at Gaborone Stadium. Kick-off is 7pm Southern African time.
The Mochudi-based giants are currently in third place in the log table, two points behind leaders and holders Gaborone United.
