Botswana head coach Morena Ramoreboli has admitted his team faces a tough challenge against Zambia in a decisive 2025 COSAFA Cup clash.
With the Chipolopolo already eliminated from the tournament following their opening 1-0 defeat to Comoros, the Zebras, who drew their first Group D game 0-0 against the Islanders, need a win against Zambia to qualify for the semi-finals on Wednesday.
“The most important thing about the match is to say that as much as mathematically they don’t have a chance, it’s for us to prepare psychologically, prepare tactically, and try our level best to be ready for the match,” said Ramoreboli.
“Obviously, the stakes are high for us to get positive results. I believe that we shouldn’t think of how many points they have and what would happen if we won the match. Can we try our level best to get a positive result?
“I believe that so far, we have at least a few things to work on, which I think can give us something.”
Botswana and Zambia will face off on Wednesday, June 11, at Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein. This year’s COSAFA Cup is serving as preparation for the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
