Bournemouth says Semenyo will not be stopped from leaving

Bournemouth general manager Tim Bezbatchenko has openly stated the Premier League club will not stand in the way of Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo if gets an offer to leave the club.

It has emerged that Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City are all keen to go for the services of the Black Stars ace, who has so far this season, scored six goals from 11 Premier League matches and provided three assists.

“When a club like Real Madrid, Liverpool, PSG come in and they compete for Champions League places, who are we to say: “No, you can’t go, you can’t fulfil your dream’,” Bezbatchenko said on the podcast Business of Sport as quoted by Flashscore.

“No, it wouldn’t be like that for all clubs, because not all are Real Madrid. But there is a possibility for everyone to win, right? I think that’s what we’re trying to find, this commonality where everyone can win.”

‘I’m enjoying my football here’

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Semenyo said he was not thinking too much about the transfer speculations.

He said: “I don’t think about it too much. I try to stay present as much as I can. You see the news all the time, I see it as well, I’m not oblivious, but I try to keep focused.

“I’m enjoying my football here. If I’m not scoring goals, all of that goes away. I try to stay present, do the best I can for the team, score goals and whatever happens in the future happens.”

He added: “When they [his former team-mates] all left [in the summer], there was a lot of interest and back and forth with the club.

“But I knew in my head that the manager’s got something up his sleeve this year. How we finished off the season last year was so good and we could continue, especially with the players we’ve bought in as well.”

Semenyo has continued to impress other teams with his performances for Bournemouth this season. Only Erling Haaland (11) and Igor Thiago (eight) have scored more Premier League goals than Semenyo (six) this season.
