Boyeli returns to Sekhukhune United after Yanga loan

Sekhukhune United have received a significant boost to their attacking department following the return of Congolese forward Andy Boyeli from his loan spell at Tanzanian giants Young Africans.

The 24-year-old’s homecoming marks a strategic move by the Babina Noko hierarchy to sharpen their offensive edge as they prepare for a high-stakes title tilt in the second half of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

A Short Stint in Dar es Salaam

Boyeli, who joined Sekhukhune in July 2024 from the Zambian side Power Dynamos, was sent on loan to the Tanzanian champions at the start of the current campaign. Despite his high pedigree, the striker found opportunities limited in a star-studded Yanga lineup.

During his debut season with Sekhukhune (2024/25), Boyeli proved to be a reliable outlet, netting six goals in 27 appearances. Head coach Eric Tinkler will now look to reintegrate the forward’s physical presence and clinical finishing into a squad that is already punching well above its weight.

The “New-Look” Frontline At Sekhukhune United

Boyeli’s return completes a dual attacking reinforcement for the Limpopo-based side this week. He joins newly signed Lehlohonolo Bradley Mojela, who recently arrived from Stellenbosch FC, as Tinkler’s primary new weapons for the restart.

The timing of these additions is critical. Sekhukhune currently occupy a formidable third place on the league table, trailing leaders Orlando Pirates by a mere three points. With a potential maiden league title within reach, the club appears determined to leave nothing to chance.

Babina Noko will put their new-look strike force to the test on January 20, when they resume their campaign with a crucial clash against Stellenbosch FC. With Boyeli back in the fold and Mojela eager to prove a point against his former employers, Sekhukhune are positioned as one of the most dangerous outfits heading into the business end of the season.
