Brandon Thomas-Asante on target as Coventry stretch lead

Ghana forward Brandon Thomas Asante was in a blistering form, registering one of the goals as Coventry City defeated Sheffield United in the English Championship on Tuesday.

Tatsuhiro Sakamoto equalized for the league leaders in the 46th minute before Bobby Thomas doubled the lead in the 60th after Sam McCallum had shot Sheffield ahead in the 25th minute at the Coventry Buidling Society Arena.

Thomas Asante struck late in injury time as Frank Lampard’s team defeated Sheffield United 3-1 to stay top of the Championship table with 31 points, four better than second placed Stoke City after 14 games.

Thomas-Asante is in the form of his life

The Ghanaian attacker has now scored ten goals in 14 appearances with three assists to his credit.

Thomas-Asante is expected to be part of Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament to be co-hosted by Canada, USA and Mexico if he keeps his form.
