Danish club Brøndby IF have announced the signing of Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis on a free transfer.

Dennis, who has been without a club since his contract was terminated by Premier League side Nottingham Forest last summer, has signed a deal that runs until the summer of 2028.

Brøndby IF announced the signing via the club’s website on Thursday.

The clubs Football Director Benjamin Schmedes stated that the 28-year-old impressed the coaching staff during his recent trial.

“Emmanuel has shown us over the past week with all the clarity we could wish for that he possesses some skills that can give us more opportunities offensively, and that you don’t necessarily see every day in the Super League. He has speed and breakthrough power, and he has shown that he is a threat in front of goal. At the same time, he brings valuable experience from a high international level.

Equally important is that Emmanuel has clearly expressed that he now wants to be at Brøndby, while also showing that he is ready to invest the effort it takes to succeed here. All of this combined means that we are getting a really exciting player.”

The new signing Dennis, who has made eight appearances for Nigeria also reflected on his trial and what the move means for him as a player.

“I am very happy to have signed with the club. I have seen video clips of the fans. They have a lot of energy, and so do I. I really appreciate the club giving me this opportunity and I am very excited to get started. Hopefully we will achieve great things together..

“The first week with the boys was fantastic. We found chemistry really quickly. They welcomed me so well that it felt like we had known each other for years. I could feel the love right away, and that made it even more attractive to me. Everyone was so nice and helpful, and I can’t wait to play on the same team as them, says our new offensive ace.”

Dennis has been assigned the number 17 jersey but is currently in England to finalize his residence and work permits. He will join Brøndby IF once the paperwork is approved, a process the club expects to conclude in February.

The journeyman forward brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for Club Brugge, FC Köln, Blackburn Rovers, İstanbul Başakşehir, and Watford.
