Malawi’s First Capital Bank (FCB) has extended its sponsorship of the country’s leading team FCB Nyasa Big Bullets by three years with a massive cash injection of USD 1.7 (3 billion Malawi Kwacha).
Speaking during a ceremony marking the sponsorship extension in Blantyre on Friday, FCB head of marketing Twikale Chirwa stressed his institution’s commitment to ensuring the growth of the 17-time FDH Premiership champions on and off the pitch.

“It is a statement of belief—a belief in the process of the power of sport to transform lives. Over the years, the relationship has grown, and we have celebrated success together. This renewal reflects the value it has created since 2023,” Chirwa said.
In his remarks, Bullets chairperson Konrad Buckle expressed his gratitude to the bank for its continued financial support, even more coming when the 2026-2027 FDH Premiership season is about to start.
“Tonight reflects the journey we have taken as owners of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. It has been amazing to see the right people driving this vision forward,” Buckle said.
The People’s Team as Bullets are also called, took advantage of the ceremony to unveil Zonse Lotto as a new partner for the club with a cash injection of USD 230, 282 (MK400 million) on a three-year contract.
Unveiling the partnership, Zonse Lotto brands manager Francis Mutuwawila said they have partnered the Blantyre-based giants because the two entities share the same values.
“We believe this club belongs to the people. It represents millions who live and breathe the game and that is why this partnership means much to us,” he said.
The sponsorship is expected to energise Bullets ahead of the 2026-2027 FDH Premiership season kick off scheduled for April 25.
The People’s Team have not won the league title since 2023 with their rivals Mighty Wanderers earning the championship last season while Silver Strikers won it the other season of 2024.
