Reports out of Germany indicate that Bundesliga club SC Freiburg are the winners among plenty of competition for the signature of 19-year-old Troyes attacker Cyriaque Irié.
Sky Germany reports that Irié has reached a verbal agreement with Freiburg, who are set to pay €8 million for the rising star in a transfer fee that could rise to €10 million. The outlet also reports that Irie has already undergone a medical for the transfer. Ablam Gnamesso of Pan-Africa Football previously reported that Irie's management was in discussions with Freiburg.
Having arrived at Troyes in August 2024 from French third tier side Dijon, Irié has since made 35 appearances for Troyes, recording 8 goals and 3 assists this season. The Ivorian-born attacker has also been called into the Burkina Faso national team but has yet to make his debut for the Stallions.
Developed at Burkinabe top division club Real du Faso, Irié's rise continues after swift success with Dijon where he produced 6 goals and 3 assists in his debut season in Europe prompting the move to Ligue 2 side Troyes. After drawing interest from some of Europe's big clubs, Irié's decision to gain more playing time with Troyes is proving to be an excellent decision.
