Burnley FC coach Scott Parker has not ruled out the prospect of Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster returning to action this season for the Sky Bet Championship side.

The 24-year-old picked a shoulder injury on Tuesday during a goalless draw against Derby County, raising fears that his season could be over for promotion-chasing Burnley FC.

With five games to go before the end of the season, there were fears that Lyle Foster could be ruled out for the rest of the Sky Bet Championship season.

However, the Clarets coach Parker has said Foster's shoulder was not as fractured as feared. "It's not looking too good for Lyle," Parker told a news conference before Friday's Championship match against Norwich City. We are looking for a second opinion, thankfully it's not as bad as we feared. He hasn't dislocated it but there is still hope that he could play again this season."

The former Orlando Pirates player stayed only six minutes on the pitch after coming off the bench before suffering the shoulder injury at Pride Park.

Hannibal Mejbri replaced the South African in the clash against Derby County, which ended goalless. Foster has scored two league goals in 17 games this campaign. He joined the Clarets from Belgian club Westerlo in January 2023.
