CAF launches call for applications to host next four AFCON’s

The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to open the door for bids to host four future editions of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

CAF President Patrice Motsepe announced the opening of bids to host the Africa Cup of Nations for the years 2029, 2031, 2033, and 2035. The CAF President made the announcement at a press conference in Nairobi, Kenya, on the sidelines of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) final on Saturday.

This press conference follows the CAF Executive Committee meeting, during which several important decisions were made regarding the evolution and development of African football.

The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) will be held in Morocco from December 21 to January 18, 2026, while three countries will co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
