Al Hilal Omdurman coach Laurențiu Reghecampf said his charges are ready to face MC Alger in round five of the CAF Champions League on Friday, February 6. The Group C leaders are on the verge of qualifying for the quarter-finals following their two outstanding results against Mamelodi Sundowns last month.

The Romanian coach stated that the Sudanese side is up for the test in Algiers against the reigning Algerian champions. “I think we are ready. We came here to do our job. We have all our players ready for the game tomorrow. I hope we can display a good match.”
Reghecampf, 50, has brought stability to the side, and they are top of their group with eight points, three better than Mamelodi Sundowns. The head coach added that he is more worried about his team and the challenges they face rather than what MC Alger needs from the game. “I have to care more about my team. What our opponent (MC Alger) needs from this game is not for us to worry about. We are ready. We are top of our group and we know what we have to do. We like the challenge.”

Reghecampf also credited Rulani Mokwena’s MC Alger, saying that they play good football. MC Alger are third with four points. A win for the Algerians will give them hope of qualifying for the knockout stage.
With the civil war ongoing in Sudan, Al Hilal could make history by progressing to the next level once again. The club achieved the same feat last season under the guidance of DR Congolese head coach Florent Ibenge.
