CAF Champions League: Orlando Pirates can upset Pyramids FC – Lucas Radebe

Former South Africa captain Lucas Radebe believes Orlando Pirates have what it takes to upset Pyramids FC in their upcoming CAF Champions League clash on Friday.

Speaking to BBC TV, the former Leeds United defender said all the Buccaneers need to overcome the Egyptian Premier League side in the second leg of the semi-final is confidence.

“The trophy is what they need. Orlando Pirates need a second star on their jersey. If they believe in themselves, they can go out there and cause a big upset.”

Coach Jose Riveiro’s side played out to a goalless draw with Pyramids in the first leg on 19 April, leaving the tie delicately poised.

Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns are South Africa’s representatives in the CAF Champions League. Sundowns have a must-win clash against defending champions Al Ahly on Friday 25 April, while Pirates take on Pyramids FC the same evening.

Miguel Cardoso’s side arrive in Cairo following a goalless draw, knowing they must win to progress.
