Dr. Mostafa El-Monaiery, head of the medical staff at Pyramids FC, revealed the reason behind the absence of Pyramids and Egypt national team left-back Mohamed Hamdy from the team’s trip to Angola where the team will face Sagrada in the CAF Champions League.

Pyramids FC will visit Sagrada on Saturday at the 11th of November Stadium in the Angolan capital, Luanda, as part of the fifth round of the group stage in the CAF Champions League with kickoff set for 4 PM GMT. Pyramids are tied atop Group D with Tunisian giants Espérance on seven points after a dramatic comeback victory on Sunday and are two points ahead of third placed Sagrada.

El-Monaiery explained that Mohamed Hamdy is suffering from an abdominal muscle injury, which he felt during the recent match against Tunisian side Espérance. He was substituted in the second half and underwent medical examinations which confirmed he is experiencing pain in the abdominal muscles.

The medical staff decided to exclude Hamdy from the trip to Angola, allowing him to follow a treatment and rehabilitation program in Cairo to prepare for the upcoming league match against Ghazl El Mahalla.

Additionally, Moroccan player Mohamed Chibi as well as Mohanad Lasheen and Mahmoud Dunga remain absent due to their respective injuries. They will continue their rehabilitation programs in Cairo.
