Former TP Mazembe midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei has weighed in on the 2024/25 CAF Champions League final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Pyramids FC.

The Stylish Guys will host the Egyptian side, who are in the final for the first time at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the first leg with the reverse fixture set for June 30 Stadium in Cairo.

Sundowns eliminated record holders Al Ahly with Pyramids kicking out Orlando Pirates to set up the final clash over two legs. Nii Adjei, who won the CAF Champions League title with TP Mazembe in 2015 and the Confederation Cup twice in 2016 and 2017, spoke to Ghana based media outlet, Radio Gold.

“African competition is a very tough competition because every team is willing to win it so everybody is coming in well prepared and I think Sundowns have done very well,” Nii Adjei told Radio Gold.

“I think every season they get to the semifinals or the finals. You see the kind of players they have, the players they buy, the coaches that they have so I will they have done well.

“And Pyramids, it’s their first time getting to the finals so they have also done well so every match is very important so they have done well.”

Sundowns were crowned champions of the Betway Premier League before the last batch of matches with Pyramids sitting top of the table with 42 points, three points above Al Ahly after 17 matches.
