Algeria giants, JS Kabylie qualified for the second round of the CAF Champions League with a 5-0 win over Gold Stars in the second leg of the preliminary round.
The two-time African champions had beaten the Ghanaian champions by 2-0 in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.
JS Kabylie replicated the performance they displayed at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg, dominating play in all departments.
They opened the floodgates very early in the half with Lahlou Akhrib poking the ball past an array of Gold Stars players to beat keeper Emmanuel Kobi in the 7th minute.
JSK continued to control the pace of the game making the visitors look ordinary in every sphere.
The record Algerian champions doubled their lead 22 minutes later when experienced campaigner, Ryad Boudebouz scored from the penalty spot.
Gold Stars lifted their game a notch higher with a quick break in the middle of the park with Appiah McCarthy’s long ranger missing the target by inches in the 39th minute.
The Canaries however held on to the 2-0 lead into the half time break.
JSK made life harsh for Gold Stars in the second half with yet another total control of the field.
The visitors were dealt a huge blow when Emmanuel Ankrah was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in the 60th minute.
Mehdi Merghem tapped in the third goal from a well cut out team play in the final third to put the game beyond the visitors in the 64th minute.
JSK added the fourth five minutes after scoring the third with Lahlou Akhrib netting his second on the evening.
The home side nailed Gold Stars coffin with the fifth goal in added time when Oualid Malki found his first goal of the game in added time.
The result ensured that JS Kabylie completed a 7-0 aggregate over the two legs and will now face US Monastir of Tunisia who eliminated East End Lions.
