Simba SC assistant coach Seleman Matola has said they will deploy a different approach when they face Stade Malien in their matchday two fixture of the CAF Champions League group stage at the 26th of March Stadium on Sunday.
While the Msimbazi Reds of Tanzania lost their Group D opener 1-0 against Petro de Luanda on home soil, Stade Malien secured a vital 0-0 draw against Espérance Sportive de Tunis away.
Matola has now said Simba will enter Sunday’s with a different plan compared to the first match they lost against Petro Atletico. Matola further said the most important thing for Simba at the moment is looking for the first three points away.
“It will not be an easy game, it will not be easy especially when you play away in this competition, we have watched their first game, they played very well, they showed a good game,” Matola told Pan-Africa Football.
“Stade Malien are very difficult to break down, but we have come here to work hard and win the game, we don’t want to look at their difficulties, we want to take home three points.”
On losing the first game at home, Matola said: “It was painful, we lost the first game home, and this gives us the spirit to go and win the second match, it is a must we get a win from the game.
“But we know it will not be an easy task, we must be ready, we must go into the game with confidence, and we need to take our chances. We want to approach this game very differently, it is a different approach, it will not be the same like we did in the opener, and we will deploy a different approach, to win the game.”
Simba are currently lying last in the group with zero points.
