Swiss coach Christian Gross, the head coach of Zamalek, stated that his team faces a tough challenge in their upcoming match against Black Bulls from Group D in the CAF Confederation Cup. Gross emphasized that Zamalek is determined to secure a victory and maintain their winning streak in the competition.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the coach said: “The fans make a big difference, and the players love playing in front of a passionate crowd.”
He added: “There are doubts about the availability of (Mahmoud) Bentayg and Ahmed Fatouh for the left flank. However, Omar Gaber is one of the solutions for that position as he has played there before. There are still 24 hours before the match and either Fatouh or Bentayg might recover in time.”
Gross highlighted the significance of the tournament, stating: “The Confederation Cup is very important to us. Our goal is to win the championship and retain the title.”
On individual player performances, Gross praised Mostafa Shalaby, saying: “Mostafa is a talented player but consistency is key. He needs to maintain his performance and show his best in matches.”
Addressing the team's attacking performance, the coach admitted: “Our offensive play still faces some challenges at times. Small details can make a big difference in attack, and we are working to improve our attacking performance in the coming period.”
Gross concluded by stressing the importance of competition within the squad: “Every player has a chance, and everyone is required to give their maximum effort in training to earn an opportunity. Any player who works hard will get their chance in the future.”
