Chiefs won 1-0 in the second leg to level the aggregate score at 1-1 before keeping their composure to win on penalties. It was mostly a frustrating second leg at the FNB Stadium but there was a happy ending for AmaKhosi supporters, who erupted with joy when Aden McCarthy converted the final spot kick to complete a perfect set of penalties.
Kabuscorp held out well for most of the match thanks to the efforts of a strong defensive performance as well as some outstanding saves from goalkeeper Anselmo Mbala. After falling to a 0-1 defeat in the first leg played in Angola, Chiefs finally made their breakthrough close to halftime when Makabi Lilepo fired in from a rebound after Mbala saved an initial effort from Dillon Solomons.
Tension continued to build as Kabuscorp withdrew from any efforts to score and instead focused on defending, which caused difficulty for a Chiefs attack that lacked the sophistication to break down the bunker.
The full time whistle arrived to the satisfaction of Kabuscorp but their efforts were foiled when AmaKhosi goalkeeper Brandon Petersen saved from the Angolan club’s second penalty to give Chiefs the advantage.

With the pressure relieved, Chiefs stayed perfect from the spot and McCarthy calmly finished the job on the fifth attempt. The reigning Nedbank Cup champions advance to face the winner between DR Congo’s AS Simba and Comorian club Djabal d’Iconi, which has yet to kick off and should be resolved by next weekend.
