CAF dismisses Kenya Police complaint, upholds Al Hilal’s victory

The CAF Disciplinary Committee has rejected Kenyan Police Club’s complaint against Al Hilal Omdurman over claims that the Sudanese side fielded ineligible players.

Al Hilal secured a commanding 4–1 aggregate victory over the Kenyan champions to progress to the Champions League group stage, confirming their spot with a decisive 3–1 win in the second-round return leg in Benghazi, Libya, in October.

Kenya Police alleged that three Al Hilal players were ineligible to play because they were not registered with the Sudan Football Association.

According to Police FC chairman Nyale Munga, the Sudanese club should not have fielded goalkeeper Soufian Farid Ouédraogo, goalscorer Sunday Damilare Adetunji, and left-back Ernest Luzolo Nsita.

CAF Rejects Kenyan Police Claims Over Al Hilal’s Ineligible Players

Al Hilal secretary general Hassan Ali Issa told the club’s media that they received CAF’s decision on Thursday, November 20, one day before the start of the group stages of the 2025/26 Champions League.

Al Hilal stated that they successfully defended their case, affirming that the three players were eligible and registered with the Sudan FA. The Disciplinary Committee delivered its verdict based on the evidence presented by both clubs, ultimately ruling in favour of Al Hilal.
