CAF unveils club rankings ahead of new season

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced its ranking of African clubs ahead of the start of the new 2025-2026 season. Al Ahly SC of Egypt leads the ranking, while CR Belouizdad of Algeria closes the top 10.

CAF Top 10 Rankings:

1- Al Ahly SC (Egypt), 78 points

2- Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), 62 points

3- Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia), 57 points

4- RS Berkane (Morocco), 52 points

5- Simba SC (Tanzania), 48 points

6- Pyramids FC (Egypt), 47 points

7- Zamalek SC (Egypt), 42 points

8- Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco), 39 points

9- USM Alger (Algeria), 37 points

10- CR Belouizdad (Algeria), 36 points

The draw for the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup for the new season is scheduled for this Saturday, August 9. The draw for the preliminary rounds of CAF club competitions will take place for the first time in Dar es Salaam.

The draw will be broadcast on CAF’s YouTube channel and via CAF’s television partners.

Azam Media Studios, CAF’s strategic partner in the region, will host the draw, replicating previous experiences of drawing in television studios.
