AS Simba released gate charges for the game with a seat at the VIP stand pegged at USD47 or R767 (100,000 Congolese Franc) and USD7 (15,000 Fc) for the terraces closer to the VIP. Entrance to the covered terraces will cost USD5 (10,000 Fc) and half the price for the open stands.
Amakhosi advanced to the second round after easing past Angolan club Kabuscorp SCP 5-4 on post-match penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time of the first preliminary round. AS Simba cruised to the next round after overcoming Djabal Club d’Iconi of Comoros with an aggregate score of 3-0.
