Asante Kotoko defender, Samba O’Neil is not giving up on the club’s chances of qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors lost 1-0 in the first leg second preliminary round of the competition to Wydad Athletic Club at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 20.

The reverse fixture might look exhaustive as the trip to Morocco will not be an easy task for the record Ghana Premier League holders.

“The game was not an easy game but it is not over yet, we are going there to correct our mistakes to make sure we will qualify for the stage,” Samba O’Neil said.

The two time African champions wove their way into the second preliminary round after eliminating Nigeria outfit, Kwara United by a 5-3 aggregate score line over two legs.

Kotoko will turn attention to the domestic league before traveling to Morocco this weekend for the return leg against Wydad Casablanca.

WAC are a club with rich domestic and continental history, having won the Botola Pro 22-times and three CAF Champions League with one CAF Super Cup in their trophy cabinet. They won the African Cup Winners Cup [CAF Confederation Cup] in 2002.
