Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has attributed defensive errors to their struggle against Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors huffed and puffed before managing to beat the Nigerian outfit by 4-3 in the first leg preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 21.
Amoah, who scored two of Kotoko’s four goals, spoke to the media after the match.
“We did well and we wanted to score more goals and we got the goals [but] a little mistake at the back and we conceded the three goals,” Albert Amoah told the media. “But I think we are not giving up [and] we are going there to qualify.”
Kotoko, who qualified for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup after lifting their 10th FA Cup last season, will travel to Ilorin for the return leg.
The record Ghana Premier League holders must protect the 4-3 lead or get more goals to stand a chance of qualifying for the next stage.
