Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung has outlined the South African club’s ambition in the remaining CAF Confederations Cup (CAFCC) group-stage games.
She said this in a New Year message to the Betway Premiership team’s supporters and stakeholders.
The South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) club started the continental cup’s group-stage on a low after losing to Egyptian side Al Marsy 2-1 before sharing the spoils at 1-1 with another Egyptian Premier League side Zamalek SC in November 2025.
Moutaung hopes the Soweto giants can begin the group stage assignments with renewed vigour this year.
“We overcame opponents from Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the preliminary stages to proudly take our place in the group stages, where we have already travelled to Egypt to face Al Masry and hosted their compatriots, Zamalek,” she said.
“We remain determined to progress further when the campaign resumes after AFCON, with home and away fixtures against Zesco United from Zambia, before a return to Egypt to face Zamalek and a home game against Al Masry.”
The next challenge for the Soweto giants will be against Zesco United in Zambia on 25 January 2026 then a home tie on 1 February 2026 against the Zambian MTN Super League opponents.
Chiefs will welcome Al Masry on 8 February 2026, before winding up the group’s assignment with a trip to Egypt for a dance with former champions Zamalek on 15 February 2026.
Chiefs crushed AS Simba from the Democratic Republic of the Congo with an impressive 3-1 victory to secure their spot in the group stage.
