CAFCC: Kwara United captain Kabiru Mohammed declares team’s readiness for Asante Kotoko

Captain of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Kwara United, Kabiru Mohammed has assured that his team is ready ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round clash against Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko.

The Harmony Boys will lock horns with Asante Kotoko in the preliminary round first-leg tie on Sunday, September 21.

Speaking to the media, the veteran defender affirmed that Kwara United are fully prepared, both physically and mentally, to face the formidable challenge posed by their opponents on their home turf.

“We know the match against Asante Kotoko won’t be easy because of the way they play and the home fans support, but we are ready physically and mentally for the game.”

Game set for Accra Sports Stadium

The encounter will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium. The venue, which will host the game due to ongoing renovations at Kotoko’s usual home ground, the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

This fixture marks a significant moment for Kwara United as they return to continental football. After finishing as runners-up in the 2025 Nigeria Federation Cup, they earned their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup and are determined to make a deep run.

Kwara United will host Asante Kotoko in the return leg on Sunday, September 28, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The winner of this two-legged affair will advance to face Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Casablanca in the next round.
