Étoile Sportive du Sahel head coach Mohamed Ali Nafkha has admitted they will need extra motivation to overturn the table when they take on Nairobi United in the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup fixture in Tunisia.
The North African suffered a 2-0 second round, first leg defeat against Kenya’s new boys in town at Ulinzi Complex on Sunday.
A goal in either half courtesy of Ovella Ochieng and Duncan Omalla ensured the promoted Nairobi-based side will travel to Tunis for the return leg carrying a healthy advantage and perfect chance to reach the group stages of the competition for the first time ever.
For Étoile they will need to win without conceding while a draw of any kind, will guarantee the Naibois a place in the next stage. Speaking after the defeat, Ali Nafkha conceded that it will not be easy, but they will do everything to make it happen.
“For us maybe, the match felt a little bit tight because of the travel but that is not an excuse for us. Normally, we play with the big teams and we shall do everything to be ready next Sunday,” he said as quoted by Pulse Sports.
“We will try to be 200% to win this fight to the group stage. Our club will be celebrating 100 years, we have won everything, and we want to transfer our history as a club to the next generation.”
The return leg is set for Stade Olympique de Sousse on Sunday.
