AS Otohô head coach Sekou Seck has admitted they are aware of the challenges they will face in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup but went ahead to confirm their readiness for the matches.
The Congolese club have been drawn in Group C alongside CR Belouizdad (Algeria), Stellenbosch FC (South Africa), and Singida Black Stars (Tanzania).
Discussing the draw, Seck said as quoted by CAFOnline.com: “First, I want to say thank you,” he said, before adding that the club “followed the draw with great interest.”
He added: “We saw the group; we saw the teams we will face. It’s true that this is not something easy—let’s be honest. Everyone who reaches this level has quality. It means they have proved things to be here.
“We are already among the 16 best clubs. If we are among the 16 best, it means our opponents are, too.”
Seck concluded: “We recognise the challenge, and we will prepare for it. Now it’s about proving ourselves on the pitch.”
Their first game will be an away contest against Stellenbosch FC in South Africa.
