Tanzania's Simba SC are through to the CAF Confederation Cup final for the first time in their history after grinding out a 0-0 second leg draw against Stellenbosch FC in South Africa to claim a 1-0 aggregate victory in the semifinals.

Simba's South African head coach, Fadlu Davids, expressed pride in the way his team managed the game in a post-match interview with SABC:

"The pitch wasn't conducive to football and we could not play our possession game as usual. The players decided 'let's manage the game'.

"Today we showed that we can fight. Today we showed that if we have to change our game plan, if we have to manage the game in terms of CAF football, they can do it so I'm proud of my players."

Davids stressed that his team keep the celebrations short and focus on their goal of winning the competition:

"Whoever comes (the opponent in the final), we have to stop celebrations too short. I don't really believe in celebrating too much after a semifinal otherwise that's your limit and you just happy with being in the final. Nope, as Simba fans we gotta fight and we gotta fight to pick up the trophy."

Simba will travel for the first leg of the Confederation Cup final on May 17, likely to Morocco to face RS Berkane who have a 4-0 advantage over Algerian club CS Constantine in the ongoing second leg of the other semifinal. Simba will host the second leg on May 25.
