Simba SC Media Officer Ahmed Ally has maintained that their focus to clinch the CAF Confederation Cup will not be distracted by the decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to shift their return leg final against RS Berkane to Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.

At first, the return leg was scheduled for Benjamin Mkapa Stadium but CAF requested the game to be played in Amaan while Simba were still away for their first leg final which they lost 2-0 at Berkane Municipal Stadium.

“After the game was shifted to Amaan, Simba as a big club, has already shifted focus to the venue, we have already started preparations towards the game in Amaan, our focus now is not on Mkapa, we have already moved on, we are focusing on doing the job at Amaan,” Ally told Pan-Africa Football.

“We don’t have time to mourn (for game being shifted from Mkapa to Amaan), and time to keep fighting that we have the game still to be played at Benjamin Mkapa is all gone now, what we have now is time to prepare for the game, we have accepted the change of venue, and now we want to focus to beat Berkane.

“They are coming with a 2-0 advantage, but I repeat, 2-0 is very reversible, they will regret why they couldn’t score more than three goals when the final whistle blows at Amaan. We will erase the two goals and definitely get the winner, the trophy will remain in Tanzania, that one I can assure Simba fans.”

Ally concluded: “Simba focus remains the same, and nothing has changed, we can never be distracted with side shows, we are focusing on winning the trophy and that is our main focus. We cannot fail to lift the trophy because we have played at Amaan and not Mkapa.”

During the first leg at Berkane Municipal Stadium, Mamadou Camara nodded in the opening goal from a Hamza El Moussaoui corner after only eight minutes, before Oussama Lamlaoui doubled Berkane’s lead six minutes later.
