CAFCC: Singida Black Stars in excellent shape to face Rayon Sports – Massanza

Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars have declared themselves ready to make a positive start in their CAF Confederation Cup debut when they take on Rayon Sports of Rwanda at the Stade Régional Nyamirambo on Saturday.

Fresh from lifting their first-ever CECAFA Kagame Cup title following a thrilling 2-1 victory over Al Hilal Omdurman in the final inspired by new signing from Young Africans Clatous Chama, Singida under head coach Miguel Gamondi, have already arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, beaming with confidence.

Singida Media Officer Hussein Massanza confirmed the team’s safe arrival, explaining they have already settled to complete final preparations for this crucial fixture.

“Our team is in excellent shape — physically fit, mentally sharp and motivated. Riding high on the momentum of our recent CECAFA Kagame Cup victory, morale is soaring and the players are focused on delivering a strong and competitive performance,” Massanza said as quoted by Daily News.

Singida optimistic about getting positive result

On coming up against Rayon Sports, he said: “Facing Rayon Sports, one of East Africa’s football powerhouses, is no easy task. But with our emphasis on discipline, teamwork and the passionate support from fans both back home and here in Rwanda, we are optimistic about securing a positive result. Inshallah, victory will be ours,” Massanza added.

“This encounter is not just a match — it’s a statement.”

The road to continental glory kicks off with the Preliminary Round, contested over two intense legs on the weekends of 19-21 September and 26-28 September. Winners from this stage will advance to the Second Preliminary Round, scheduled for 17-19 October, with return legs set for 24-26 October.
