Zambia top-flight league side ZESCO United have added more firepower upfront ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup group-stage meeting with Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.
The Zambians signed highly-rated Ghanaian forward Elvis Bernard Addae on a two-and-a-half-year contract on Friday. ZESCO United unveiled the 23-year-old barely two days before they face AmaKhosi at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Addae has joined the Kitwe-based outfit from Nigerian side AS FAN in the Nigerian Super League. He was last season’s top scorer and was voted MVP after netting 18 goals in 29 games.
In a statement, Mathew Ndlovu-led team described Addae as a proven goal scorer who will add value to the MTN Super League side for the remaining part of the season.
“Addae is a dynamic and versatile forward who combines pace, clinical finishing, and intelligent movement inside the box. At 23 years old, the Ghanaian striker has already gained valuable experience in continental competitions, featuring for AS FAN in CAF club tournaments such as the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, showcasing his ability to perform on the big stage,” reads part of the statement.
“Elvis arrives ready to make an immediate impact and help us chase glory in the Zambia Super League and cup competitions! Whether it’s breaking down defences or creating chances, our new forward is here to fire ZESCO United to success!”
The Zambians lost 1-0 to Chiefs last weekend and are chasing their first victory in the Confederation Cup.
