CAFCC: Zesco United remains positive ahead of Jwaneng Galaxy return leg

The ZESCO United Football Club delegation, led by Club Chairperson Patricia Musiya, paid a courtesy visit to Zambia’s High Commissioner to Botswana, Her Excellency Pamela Chisanga, at her office in Gaborone.

The team is currently in Botswana ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup return match against Jwaneng Galaxy FC, scheduled for Saturday at 15:00 hours at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown.

During the meeting, Patricia Musiya briefed the High Commissioner on ZESCO United’s performance in the league and the ongoing CAF campaign, highlighting the club’s structure and ambitions. “Your Excellency, ZESCO United Football Club is one of Zambia’s powerhouses in football, and we can assure you that we are here to win and qualify for the CAF Group Stage,” she emphasised.

‘ZESCO United will not let Zambians down’

Her Excellency Pamela Chisanga assured ZESCO United of her support, stating, “We are solely behind you, and we wish you well in your game.

“We are grateful for the collaboration and partnership that has enabled us to undertake this mission. The Government of Zambia attaches great importance to sports, and we appreciate companies like ZESCO for supporting sporting activities such as football with ZESCO United.”

Later, the High Commissioner and her delegation visited the team at their hotel, where she shared words of encouragement with the players and technical staff ahead of the crucial encounter against Jwaneng Galaxy.

After securing a 4-3 win in the first leg at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola last Saturday, ZESCO is determined to progress to the next stage.

They reached the second round stage after defeating FC 105 of Congo Brazzaville 5-0 in the previous round.
