CAFCL: ASEC Mimosas coach Julien Chevalier reveals target against Power Dynamos

Ivorian Premier League champions Asec Mimosas have revealed their game plan heading into their CAF Champions League fixture against Zambia Super League champions Power Dynamos at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, on Saturday.

The two teams will face off in the first leg, first preliminary round fixture before they clash again in the return leg slated for September 28, Sunday, at Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Ivory Coast.

Heading into the fixture, Asec Mimosas coach Julien Chevalier described the game as important for his side, as they want to kick off their campaign on a perfect note.

Mimosas ambition is to play good game

“We are here for an important game, and our ambition is to play a good game and be in a good position to qualify to the next round,” Chevalier told reporters ahead of the game.

“We all know it will not be an easy game, they (Dynamos) will be playing at home, we don’t know much about them but our desire is to get a win that will make our work easier for the return leg at home.”

Dynamos have made a return to the table of African football’s elite, and their first match of this season’s premier continental competition is against the Ivoirians.

Meanwhile, Asec will come into this game on the back of three league wins and one defeat. On the other hand, Power have two wins and one draw in their opening three domestic matches.

This being a Champions League encounter, a first of the two-legged knockout affair, both teams know that the stakes are much higher than in domestic football.
